Somnia Shines at ETH Denver 2025: A Week of Innovation and Impact

The Somnia team had a massive week at ETH Denver! Somnia’s booth was always active, with a ton of different people stopping by to ask us how we could possibly achieve over 1 Million TPS! 


Somnia’s founder, Paul Thomas, spoke at the main event, and his presentation was broadcast through the venue! 



Ignacio, Somnia’s Head of Engineering, was busy giving presentations at the many side events we attended throughout the week. 



Somnia’s flagship event, Uniting Societies, had an incredible turnout, bringing together builders, investors, and innovators to discuss the future of on-chain games and applications.




We also had a successful hackathon, with a lot of great entries. Our winner was 0xCaliber, a fully on-chain first person shooter game. 



0xCaliber – Multiplayer first-person shooter that blends classic fps with real-time block chain in a simple and easy to understand way.

Here are some of the other entries: 

Cranberry – Cranberry is an innovative project designed to enhance multi-agent AI systems through a dual-memory architecture, combining Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) for private memory and an optimized First-In-First-Out (FIFO) long-term memory. This structure enables AI applications to process data securely and maintain context over extended interactions.

Fantasy KOL – Fantasy KOL is an on-chain SocialFi platform that gamifies cryptocurrency trading by allowing users to create virtual teams composed of top-performing trader wallets. Participants join leagues, invest a buy-in amount (e.g., $100 RLUSD), and draft a “Starting 5” wallets based on historical profit and loss (PnL) data. Each week, these selected wallets’ real on-chain PnL is tracked, translating directly into points for the teams. The platform operates on a weekly cycle within a broader four-week season, after which leaderboard rankings are finalized, and winners are rewarded.

VeraSwap – VeraSwap is a cross-chain decentralized exchange (DEX) designed to simplify token adoption and address fragmented liquidity by abstracting the processes of swapping and bridging tokens across different blockchains.

TrustDAI – Trusted Decentralized AI – TrustDAI is a decentralized crowdfunding platform designed to enhance transparency, security, and efficiency in fundraising. By leveraging smart contracts, the platform ensures that funds are distributed based on predefined milestones, reducing the risk of mismanagement and increasing accountability. Operating on a blockchain network, TrustDAI enables global participation, allowing users to contribute without traditional financial barriers. Additionally, the platform eliminates intermediaries, resulting in lower transaction fees and more direct support for projects.

With its trustless and automated approach, TrustDAI fosters a more secure and efficient crowdfunding experience. Contributors can verify fund usage through blockchain transparency, ensuring greater trust in the system. Its decentralized architecture also protects against fraud, making it a reliable alternative to traditional crowdfunding methods. By streamlining the fundraising process, TrustDAI provides project creators with a fairer, more accessible funding solution.

GameGear – GameGear is a decentralized platform designed to empower gamers by enabling them to create, share, and monetize their own in-game assets and experiences. Leveraging blockchain technology, GameGear ensures true ownership of digital assets, allowing players to trade and utilize their creations across various gaming ecosystems. This approach not only fosters a vibrant community of creators but also introduces new revenue streams for gamers, transforming traditional gaming dynamics.​

By integrating smart contracts, GameGear provides a secure and transparent environment where creators can set terms for asset usage, ensuring they receive appropriate compensation. This system eliminates intermediaries, allowing for direct interactions between creators and consumers. Additionally, GameGear’s interoperability features enable assets to be utilized across multiple games, enhancing their value and utility. Overall, GameGear aims to revolutionize the gaming industry by placing creative control and ownership directly into the hands of players.

Trench Report – Trench Report is an AI-driven trading platform that leverages Large Language Models (LLMs) to create interactive trading agents with specialized strategies. These agents assist users by identifying trends, spotting recovery opportunities, and discovering new tokens, providing an engaging and educational trading experience. The platform allows users to interact with AI agents, learn from their insights, and observe collaborative trading decisions, making it suitable for both beginner and experienced traders. By integrating AI with advanced trading algorithms, Trench Report aims to enhance decision-making, improve market accessibility, and revolutionize the way users engage with trading strategies.

V3K :: Vision 3000 Agent Store – ​V3K :: Vision 3000 Agent Store is a decentralized platform designed to facilitate the discovery, interaction, and management of interoperable AI agents. By assigning a universal Agent ID through integration with ENS/DNS systems, V3K enables seamless agent-to-agent communication and resource resolution across both Web2 and Web3 environments. The platform features a decentralized agent store with on-chain reputation signaling, allowing users to browse and evaluate AI agents based on community ratings and developer credentials. Developers can register their agents directly via ElizaOS, through interactions with the Entity.ID registry smart contract, or using the V3K.com user interface, specifying attributes such as capabilities, APIs, and endpoints. V3K’s architecture is built atop Registry Chain, providing a universal entity for on-chain agent identification, and integrates with platforms like ElizaOS and LangChain/G.A.M.E plugins to enhance functionality.

Silverbacks Crypto Cash – Silverbacks Crypto Cash is a platform that bridges traditional paper money and digital cryptocurrency, simplifying the process of converting physical bills into digital assets. By representing value as digital bills (NFTs), the system leverages the familiar concept of paper money, making the transition to digital assets intuitive and less intimidating. Users can convert physical bills into digital assets without needing to understand complex deposit processes or token approvals, enhancing accessibility for newcomers. Each physical bill is preloaded as an NFT with metadata stored on IPFS and embeds an NFC chip containing an encrypted private key. A QR code on the bill encodes the decryption key, ensuring that only the rightful holder can redeem it, thereby reducing the risk of fraud and unauthorized redemptions. Upon redemption, users can receive either a fixed stablecoin amount or a diversified bundle of tokens, offering exposure to multiple assets through a single note. This solution makes traditional cash-to-crypto conversion easier, safer, and more user-friendly, opening up digital finance to a broader audience.​

Megaphone AI – Megaphone AI is a decentralized platform where AI agents generate viral tweets for brands in exchange for token rewards. Brands create bounties with engagement targets, and AI agents compete to craft the best content. The platform verifies Twitter metrics and automates payouts via smart contracts, ensuring transparency and efficiency in social media marketing.

Fair Launch – Fair Launch is a decentralized platform designed to ensure transparent and secure token creation and distribution, effectively mitigating the risk of rug pulls. It enforces fair launch mechanics by requiring liquidity commitments and implementing locking mechanisms, ensuring that token creators cannot exit early and that whale manipulation is prevented. Additionally, by integrating with the Humanity Protocol, Fair Launch authenticates token creators through verifiable credentials, reducing the risk of anonymous scams and enhancing overall trust in the token ecosystem.

Regen Pass – Regen Pass is a smart event badge system that uses AI, augmented reality (AR), and blockchain to make event participation more interactive and secure. Attendees scan event booths with their phones, and AI verifies their location before issuing a Proof of Attendance Protocol (POAP) badge. The platform ensures fair distribution using geo-fencing and cross-chain minting via Chainlink CCIP. It also features leaderboards and perks for top participants, making events more engaging and rewarding.


DreamFi – DreamFi is a DeFi platform that lets users borrow against market index funds instead of just stablecoins. It enables short positions and yield farming, offering diversified risk management strategies. Using Aave’s interest model and Chainlink price feeds, it ensures secure and efficient lending. With flexible debt management and liquidation rules, DreamFi provides a new way to leverage crypto assets in decentralized finance.
