Meet the New Leadership Team Taking Somnia to the Agentic Future
Industry Veterans Join to Lead Somnia's Next Chapter
As we enter a new phase of growth, we’re excited to introduce three senior leaders who will help shape what comes next. Peter Lipka joins as Chief Executive Officer, Harry Lang as Chief Marketing Officer, and Kevin Zia as Chief Operating Officer, each bringing deep experience across distributed systems infrastructure, consumer gaming, and enterprise-scale operations.
These appointments come as we move into our next phase. Since mainnet launched last year, the Somnia ecosystem has grown steadily, with new developers building on the network and the foundation’s ambitions expanding beyond its original scope. The new leadership team is built for what comes next, a direct reflection of that ambition.
Our founder, Paul Thomas, who led the project through its earliest development stages and mainnet launch, continues in his role as Founder. His focus remains on the long-term technical and strategic vision for the network, and the new leadership team will work alongside him to accelerate execution across every part of the organization.
Peter Lipka, Chief Executive Officer
Peter Lipka has come on board as our new Chief Executive Officer, bringing extensive experience building transformative technology companies. As co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Improbable, Peter helped grow the metaverse infrastructure company from a small team to a multi-billion dollar valuation following a landmark investment from SoftBank. He played a key role in designing and architecting the core principles behind Improbable’s SpatialOS technology and has spent his career at the intersection of distributed computing, virtual worlds, and Web3 infrastructure.
Harry Lang, Chief Marketing Officer
Harry Lang joins us as Chief Marketing Officer, bringing over two decades of experience in digital entertainment and online gaming. Lang has held senior marketing positions at some of the world’s largest betting and gaming operators, including bwin, Pinnacle, Party Casino, and Foxy Bingo. He is also the author of several books and was previously VP of Marketing at game developer Kwalee, where he built award-winning marketing programs and led teams across performance, growth, and brand disciplines.
Kevin Zia, Chief Operating Officer
We have also brought Kevin Zia onto the team as Chief Operating Officer. Kevin served as Chief of Staff at Improbable, where he worked closely with the executive team to drive operational strategy across the foundation’s pivot from virtual worlds to venture building. Before Improbable, he held the position of Vice President, Technology and Operations at NBCUniversal Media, gaining extensive experience in large-scale media and entertainment operations.
