Gaming Week Showcases The First Wave of Games on Somnia
Somnia Gaming Week is here, bringing a full lineup of competitions, rewards, and fun gameplay from the first wave of Somnia Games. Each day of the week highlights a different game that shows what’s possible on Somnia, featuring Discord events where the community can chat and game together.
Ranking high on the leaderboard will also earn players prizes over $10,000 USDC + NFTs + in-game rewards, with additional rewards for other tasks.
Day 1: Enter the Hive with Pixcape Games
Somnia Gaming Week blasts off with Hive Invasion, a retro-inspired, browser-based MMORPG from Pixcape Games that puts you up against mutating alien Hives. You play as an Echo-9 unit, which is a fusion of AI and organic life, and you’re tasked with pushing back against a growing threat in procedurally generated biomes. Every mission demands tactical survival, as players juggle resources like Life and Fuel while facing down increasingly adaptive enemies.
Strategic use of temporary power-ups and weapon drops can turn the tide, especially during wave-based challenges that demand both control and aggression. The more you push forward, the more chaotic and rewarding the experience becomes.
For Somnia Gaming Week, you can earn rewards for eliminating enemies, destroying nests, or finishing drills. And now with real prizes on the line, surviving the Hive just got even more intense.
Day 2: Experience a New Era of Live-Service Rougelikes with Variance
On Day 2 of Somnia Gaming Week, the spotlight turns to Variance, an anime-inspired roguelike RPG developed by Realm Studios. Variance blends fast-paced combat, gacha-style mechanics, and a live-service model that constantly evolves. A live-service model for this style of game is extremely rare, so rare that this could be one of the first roguelike RPGs to adopt these features.
Variance has already attracted strong early traction, with over 8,800 organic alpha playtesters, $60,000+ in early NFT sales, and 31 percent D30 retention during alpha testing.
The game has leveraged Somnia’s capabilities by recording all of the player metadata onchain. This means that every move, elimination and action that players take are on the blockchain, opening the door for more complex achievement rankings and gaming prediction markets.
Players are drawn not just to its eye-catching style and fluid gameplay, but to the depth of its systems. Each run is packed with skill-based decision making, new live-service content, and high replay value.
For Gaming Week, the competition will revolve around the Variance leaderboard. Players can grind for top scores throughout the week, and with USDC prizes at stake, it’s a perfect time to test your mastery, or get your first taste of this innovative title.
Day 3: Sail the High Seas in a Naval Battle Royale
Day 3 of Somnia Gaming Week sails into darker waters with Maelstrom, a high-stakes naval combat game set in a world where monstrous seas and supernatural forces are just as dangerous as your enemies. Players choose from a range of factions, Humans, Orcs, Dwarves, and Ghosts, each offering distinct warships and combat styles.
Maelstrom is one of the only battle royale-style games set entirely at sea, where players command ships through treacherous waters. While most titles in the genre are first-person or third-person shooters, Maelstrom takes the formula in a bold new direction. With both free-for-all and PvE game modes available, it offers a fresh, naval twist on competitive survival gameplay.
Somnia Gaming Week offers a chance for captains to prove themselves in battle and earn rewards if they’re able to top the leaderboards.
Day 4: Cards on the Darktable
The fourth day of Somnia Gaming Week brings players into the world of Dark Table CCG, a multiplayer card game with an entirely new take on the genre. Dark Table CCG is the world’s first Cross-Collectible (C2) Card Game, featuring a 4-player free-for-all format that rewards bluffing, theorycrafting, and bold strategic gambits.
Forget loot boxes and slow progression. Dark Table gives players the tools to compete from the start. Its Deck Token system removes the grind by allowing instant deck-building, encouraging creativity and experimentation instead of pay-to-win mechanics. Every match becomes a mental battleground, where unpredictable alliances form and collapse in moments, and players must constantly adapt to survive.
In addition to objective based rewards for Somnia gaming week, top-performing players will be ranked on a real-time leaderboard.
Day 5: Double the Challenge, Lucky Adventure Gambit & QRusader
Day 5 of Somnia Gaming Week brings two mobile-first titles together that showcase the creativity and ingenuity of the Somnia community: The strategic dungeon-crawler Lucky Adventure Gambit, and the procedurally generated rouglite QRusader.
Lucky Adventure Gambit: Dungeon Crawling, Reimagined
Built by Indonesian studio Hexaplay, Lucky Adventure Gambit puts a fresh spin on traditional dungeon crawlers with strategic asynchronous PvP battles. Players explore dungeons where combat strategies are pre-set, encouraging smart planning rather than twitch reflexes. Equipment and NFT Monster Cards are a key component of the gameplay, creating a robust onchain economy centered around skill, expression and strategic wagering.
The game’s underlying tech includes provably fair randomness and player-driven asset trading, all supported by Somnia’s high-speed blockchain. Lucky Adventure Gambit is already playable on mobile browsers and is backed by a team with deep roots in Web3 gaming, entrepreneurship, and community building.
Players competing during Gaming Week will earn points based on enemy difficulty and strategic dungeon selection, turning what seems like a simple monster hunt into a nuanced challenge that rewards risk and smart scaling.
QRusader: Scan the Code, Shape the Game
On the other side of the spectrum, QRusader brings an experimental twist to roguelite gameplay by using real-world QR codes to generate entirely new dungeons. Each code scanned creates a unique layout with its own enemies, themes, and difficulty. A business flyer, cereal box, or QR-tagged mural could all lead to wildly different in-game experiences.
This mobile hopper draws inspiration from games like Crossy Road but adds infinite scalability through procedural generation. Players become part of a global scavenger hunt, combining exploration, discovery, and community sharing in a way that feels genuinely innovative. As players gather QR codes, they’ll not only unlock harder levels but also find social value in building and trading level seeds.
Players must join the QRusaders discord where winners will be announced at the end of Somnia Gaming Week. Only one prize will be awarded per player.
Day 6: Masks of the Void: Telekinetic Powers in a Shifting World
The sixth day of Somnia Gaming Week brings Masks of the Void: Infinity, a roguelite action-RPG from RolldBox Games. Players step into the shoes of Iret, a girl armed with telekinetic powers and burdened with the task of pushing back the creeping darkness of the Neverending Night. What begins as a quest for survival quickly becomes a battle against the world itself, as your growing power bends reality in unexpected ways.
Gameplay revolves around manipulating the environment using Iret’s telekinetic abilities. Trash piles, broken walls, and loose debris become potential weapons. Each run presents new mask-based upgrades and randomly generated relics that shape your build. But with power comes instability, the more you absorb, the more the world mutates in response. Enemies adapt, environments destabilize, and nothing stays the same for long.
Players may qualify for two different categories for Gaming Week competitions, which are the top five scores of any single run and top three cumulative scores throughout the week. Only one prize will be awarded per player.
Day 7: Cue Up with PoolLegend
Somnia Gaming Week wraps up with PoolLegend, a slick, multiplayer billiards game developed by TDC Studio, a team with several global hits with over 50 million downloads.
Focused on fluid mechanics and intuitive play, Pool Legend delivers a polished 8-ball experience with web3 features. This is a game built for competitors. With ranked 1v1 matches, smooth physics, and a clean UI, Pool Legend targets players who crave real skill expression without the grind.
For players who climb the leaderboard during Gaming Week, it’s also a chance to pocket some USDC and claim bragging rights as one of the top shooters on the network. It’s fast, competitive, and the perfect way to close out a week of innovation and fun.
Wayfinders Guild
The Wayfinders guild will be collaborating with Somnia for Gaming Week, organizing a competition with Variance, and a gaming event in Somnia’s Discord server. There will also be a content creation tournament for Variance and Maelstrom, so get creative and show us what you can come up with!
