Mullet Cop: Mall Sim Joins Somnia’s Game Lineup on The Blockchain For Entertainment

Somnia is on its way to becoming the blockchain for entertainment, with an expanding lineup of games and performance capabilities that allow developers to bring experiences fully on-chain.

Blockchains have always been associated with finance, but there are a wide range of blockchain use-cases that many people don’t even consider, especially in the realm of entertainment. With Somnia’s speed and scalability, developers can build social apps, token-gated shows and movies, and real-time fantasy sports leagues that sync with live games. And that’s just the beginning, new use cases will continue to emerge as creators experiment with what’s possible

Somnia intends to support all of these different use cases, but the games will serve as the foundation of the ecosystem, so today we’re highlighting a few of the games that are coming to Somnia.

Mullet Cop: Mall Sim Is Coming to Somnia

Mullet Cop, the cult comic about a mall cop who goes undercover as a buffet manager in a dystopian megamall after a near-death experience, is coming to life as a new video game called Mullet Cop: Mall Sim. This surreal and colorful game is the next title to join the Somnia ecosystem through the Dream Catalyst accelerator program.

The Mullet Cop story comes from a graphic novel created by Tom Lintern, which has developed a dedicated fanbase for its retro-futuristic style and absurd satire. Now, the Mullet Cop story expands into gaming with an interactive experience set inside Megamall 4472-158, where players will step into the role of Fred “the Mulletcop,” and take down criminals alongside allies like M.I.T.T., the sentient microwave.

Mullet Cop: Mall Sim is a top-down isometric mall simulator that allows the player to choose the style of gameplay that they prefer.

The game has a violence slider, which entirely changes the experience for the player. At the most peaceful level, NPCs mull around the mall, shopping and being generally cozy.  As the violence meter is increased by the player, enemies and mall cops will appear, leading to eventual fights, rioting and looting in the mall.

Part “design-your-own-mall-floorplan” and part “destroy your mall with gangs and riots”, Mullet Cop allows the player to set up their experience and watch events unfold, participating as a passive observer, or joining into the fray and ridding the mall of scum and villainy.

The game also features a random mall generator with easy-to-use customization tools which use digital paint brushes for layout, store type, and furnishings, allowing the player to participate in the creation of the mall as much or as little as they’d like.

Mullet Cop: Mall Sim will leverage Somnia’s high performance EVM L1 blockchain to integrate NFTs and in-game currencies. The game is full of NFT-mintable art that also act as power-ups in the game, giving players an advantage and the potential to rank higher on the leaderboards. The higher a player scores on the leaderboards, the better chance they have of gaining a more valuable NFT.

More details are on the way. For now, grow out the mullet. It’s almost time to clean up the mall. Prepare for your mission by joining the Mullet Cop community and following on X, it will also help you complete our quests!

Somnia’s Dream Catalyst Accelerator Program

As a Dream Catalyst Accelerator title, Mullet Cop: Mall Sim joins a growing lineup of games exploring what’s possible when you integrate blockchain mechanics into games that people actually enjoy playing.

Dream Catalyst, a six-month accelerator program launched by Somnia and Web3 game publisher Uprising Labs. The program provides funding, mentorship, and deep industry connections across blockchain, publishing, and game development.

Mullet Cop: Mall Sim is the 3rd game to join Somnia through the Dream Catalyst Accelerator program, following Dark Table CCG and Netherak Demons. Dark Table CCG is a collectable card game with NFT deck customization, while Netherak Demons is a dark RPG similar to games like Diablo or Path of Exile. In the coming weeks and months, a wave of exciting new games will be entering the Somnia ecosystem through the Dream Catalyst Accelerator, each with their own quests and campaigns, so stay active in the community!

Dark Table CCG Joins Somnia Team For X Space

On Thursday, April 17th, Somnia will be hosting a Space on X with members of the team from Dark Table CCG. This game reimagines the digital card game experience by introducing strategic 4-player free-for-all combat. Players can form temporary alliances, bluff opponents, and customize nearly every aspect of their presence in-game, from avatars and titles to animated 3D playmats and alternate art for cards.

Dark Table CCG offers a streamlined deck-building system that prioritizes theorycrafting and creativity. Players can build complete decks instantly using Deck Tokens, removing the barriers of chance and enabling a focus on skill, strategy, and customization. Join us on April 17th for the Space!

Galeon Brings AI-Enhanced Web3 Game Creation to Somnia

Galeon was built to lower the technical barriers that often prevent creators from entering the Web3 gaming space. By offering a suite of no-code tools and AI-driven collaboration agents, the platform allows a wider audience to build and launch games that are interoperable, decentralized, and fun.

One of Galeon’s most important features is its use of multi-agent systems. These AI-driven agents work in tandem, sharing tasks and knowledge to help game creators move from concept to implementation more quickly than ever before. This is especially powerful for creators who want to test ideas, generate in-game mechanics, or deploy logic without spending months learning smart contract development.

Galeon’s editor interface allows users to drag and drop elements, test mechanics, and collaborate in real time with other creators. The system also includes the option to incorporate AI agents that suggest improvements, generate NPC dialogue, or simulate player behavior during game design testing. These features work hand in hand with Somnia’s underlying architecture, ensuring low latency and high fidelity across devices.

As Web3 gaming shifts toward more interactive, persistent environments, the need for these tools will only grow. Galeon provides a framework for development that emphasizes iteration, speed, and accessibility. Its AI-powered assistants can handle tasks such as environment setup, logic building, item balancing, and even dynamic storytelling. For developers already thinking about building on Somnia, Galeon offers an on-ramp that flattens the learning curve and opens new creative possibilities.

When creators build their games on Galeon, they can tap into the full capabilities of Somnia’s ecosystem. With Galeon’s tools, projects that would typically take a full development team can now be done with a smaller group, or even a solo creator.

Somnia Onboards Kraft Labs to Launch Three On-Chain Games

Somnia is also happy to welcome Kraft Labs as a new member of the ecosystem. This talented development team is launching three fully on-chain games on Somnia’s high-performance Layer 1 blockchain: Rock Paper Scissors Core, Snake Game, Ghibli Pet Game, AI Girlfriend!

Kraft Labs is developing a snake game with on-chain mechanics. It plays just like the snake growing game that you are probably familiar with, but every action taken is entirely on-chain. Check out some of the gameplay screenshots below:

Rock Paper Scissors Core offers a strategic twist on a classic game, powered by NFT collectibles and on-chain matchmaking.

Wait, My Hero! is an AI-driven escape room where players interact with a sentient NPC girlfriend in a psychological thriller filled with branching storylines and token-gated choices.

Ghibli Pet Game is a whimsical, Ghibli-inspired pet-battling adventure where players craft unique avatars, battle others, and earn tokens. With collectibles, progression, and on-chain monetization.

Each of these games give a small glimpse into what can be possible on Somnia’s high performance blockchain.

Somnia’s Community Games

The Somniacs have been cooking up some fun games on Somnia’s Testnet, keeping the community busy with new games and apps to try on a regular basis. Some Somniacs have been especially busy, like Directive Creator and Haileyy. Haileyy has made several simple games that are fully on-chain, including the classic snake game, a bubble pop game, a coin flip app, a painting interface and much more!

You can also flip a coin and use your Somnia Test Tokens to wager whether it will land on heads or tails.

If you just want to relax and get creative, you can log into Somnia Paint and start moving around pixels.

We also had a great deployment from a community member called Aswin, who launched a very cool on-chain Dino Runner game on the Somnia Testnet.

There are new on-chain experiences popping up on the Somnia testnet all the time, so make sure you’re active in the community and doing all the quests so you don’t miss anything new!
